The North Carolina Real Estate Commission writes the four-hour General Update (GENUP) real estate course each year. All non-BIC or non-BIC-eligible North Carolina real estate license holders who want to renew their licenses for the 2025–2026 license year must complete this 4 hour course, which counts toward the required 8 hours of continuing education every year.
